Situated in the fast-growing south-western corner of Beijing City, Vanke’s No.09 Commercial Precinct is an innovative, contemporary project combining retail and commercial function.
With the architectural facades elegantly simple, the landscape is inspired by the buildings’ roof design. The upward fold, perforated by a series of cutouts and characterised by a slightly misaligned geometry, is the intended focus of the built form. The intensity of the landscape is elevated to provide a strong grounding for the project.
The result is a series of elements – seats, water features, seemingly gravity-defying planters, interactive artworks and play spaces – that punctuate a bold and vibrant commercial landscape.
