the prince roof garden
Canberra, Australia
Located on the Kingston Foreshore, this roof garden offers extensive views across the water. Its design divides the garden into two distinct zones: a large open space to the north and a small intimate courtyard to the south.
The larger open area flows from the internal entertaining area out to a large patio. The space continues to a small informal lawn surrounded by a wildflower meadow. Within this meadow a small fire pit court takes full advantage of spectacular views over the Kingston foreshore and Lake Burley-Griffin.
An informal path connects the lawn to the productive part of the garden in the south, comprising a circular herb garden surrounded by fruit trees and other edible plants. The space culminates in a small courtyard adjoining the loggia, the perfect place for a hammock, and the paper.
