The Kingston Arts Precinct is proposed on a site that has an enduring social, cultural and architectural heritage. Structural remnants on site present powerful documentation of what once was. They are informing what the new design should reflect and celebrate as the precinct emerges as a unique, vibrant and inviting place to be – The Kingston Arts Precinct.

A site such as this requires a strong identity in order to distinguish itself on both the local and international scenes – the landscape as the connecting fabric of the project is vitally important in achieving this.

Physical remnants of the precinct’s past include the glass factory and the fitters workshop. The proposed landscape will reflect their heritage, celebrate their social and cultural importance, and integrate new forms and character, pulling the past into the future in a positive and dynamic way.
